Welcome
Our goal is to provide a fun and educational golf program for the kids through the Archdiocese of St. Louis CYC . Our hope is to teach the kids the great game of golf in a safe, Christian, cost effective environment preserving the integrity and character of its players for generations to come.

Mid-Season Notes:
Team Parents – We could have done a better job communicating this responsibility this season so my apologies. We’d like the parents to talk before the round on who can be the Team Parent for this round. We need a team parent for 2 things.
1. After the announcement at the beginning of your child’s round. Help the kids break up into groups of 2 golfers for each team. The groups will go off their first hole as groups of 4 kids (2 from each team). They exchange scorecards and keep other kids score throughout the round. If you have uneven teams then have the kids go off in teams of 3 and not 5 so split them up accordingly.
2. At the end of the round the team parent will make sure the kids fill out their scorecards, add up their score, then hand the scorecards to the team parent. The team parent goes inside to the scoring table and just inputs the scores for the team for that day.
Please ask the course managers that are on-site if you ever have any questions.

Start times are subject to moving back as the day progresses but we will not start before the scheduled tee time.
Guidelines for Parents, Coaches and Observers:
1. Parents, coaches and spectators must stay to the side of the fairways except to help locate errant/lost balls.
2. Parents, coaches and observers may not tend the flagstick or carry a player's bag or equipment, they may assist in locating.
3. Parents, coaches and observers may carry drinking water, snacks, and rain equipment for a player.
4. Movement, talking and other noise should stop while a player is making a shot.
5. Advice or assistance to the players is not permitted. Warning for the 1st offense. Subsequent offenses may receive 1 or 2 stroke penalties.
6. Cell phones must be silenced. No cell phone calls or texting allowed on the golf course.

Hello CYC Big League Golf Parents,
We wanted to send you a reminder that CYC Big League (5th-8th Grade) Matches start this weekend and will continue for the next 6 weeks. Please use Team Sideline to update your availability and do not email the district with this information.
Arrive a minimum of 20 minutes early. Course Managers will start with an explanation of the days conditions, rules (ball up, down, etc.) and starting holes 10 minutes before your team time. It is a Shotgun start which means you may not start on the first hole so please be early. After the course managers are done you will walk out your starting hole. Matches will consist of 4 golfers at a time (2 from each team). Meet in the parking lot at Pheasent Run and look for a board with your team name. At Hawks Ridge meet outside of the back of the clubhouse.

For those that placed in the Top 4 of the St. Charles Playoffs at Pheasant Run here are the details for this Saturday’s St. Louis Area Big League playoffs.
We are set for the Archdiocesan Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 25th, 2022. All 160 of our participants will be playing the front 9 at Paradise Valley Golf & Country Club (1055 Lochmoor Dr, High Ridge, MO 63049). Our first tee time will be at 10:30 am and our last tee time will be at 5:00 pm. We will be running on 10 minute tee times. The order of play is as follows:
8 Grade Boys 10:30 am - 11:10 am
8 Grade Girls 11:20 am - 12:00 pm
7 Grade Boys 12:10 pm - 12:50 pm
7 Grade Girls 1:00 pm - 1:40 pm
6 Grade Boys 1:50 pm - 2:30 pm
6 Grade Girls 2:40 pm - 3:20 pm
5 Grade Boys 3:30 pm - 4:10 pm

Little League Update: Lessons that were rained out Saturday of last weekend (5/21) will be made up in this way.
The lessons from Saturday (5/21) at Golf Headquarters will be made up at the same time Saturday (6/4). The lessons from Saturday (5/21) at Missouri Bluffs will be made up at the same time this Saturday (5/28).
The makeup sessions from 4/9 at 9,10, and 11am will be made up the following weekends at both locations. This means the 4/9 session at Missouri Bluffs will still happen on 6/4 as earlier posted but the same sessions at Golf Headquarters will be pushed back to 6/11. CYC St. Charles BIG LEAGUE GOLF Week 1 Notes
The weather wasn’t perfect, but we were able to complete all the matches. Typically the first week is hectic as the program is new to many parents, managers, and golfers. Thank you to all for a successful week 1. We appreciate your patience. And a big thank you to our Course Managers. They do an excellent job for us on match days!
NOTES:
We had a Hole in 1 this week! Congrats to Sami Owens – an 8th grader in her first official CYC match that carded an ace on #9 at Pheasant Run!!
Individual and team scores are in progress and will be posted this week.
Reminder to all parents. We realize many golfers are beginners and require guidance and support as they complete their round of golf. That said, parents are observers. Parents should remain on the paths, provide encouragement, help locate lost balls, assist with golf etiquette, and remind golfers to be ready to play. Parents are not caddies, should not carry bags, offer advice on club selection, or keep score. This can be difficult for parents, but the program wants golfers to learn how to play and manage a round of golf.
Golfer should know their Team Name and Team Manager. All teams have an assigned Team Manager who has responsibilities on match day. If you don’t know your Team Manager contact your local parish coordinator.
Team Managers – reminder to be sure your team is prepared for the match with scorecards, pencils, etc. Work with Team Manager of your opponent on group arrangements for the golfers in your match. At the end of the match, verify your team have scorecards filled out, totaled, with required signatures. And finally, the Team Manager are expected to enter the scores into the master scoresheets in the clubhouse. If a Team Manager will not be at the match, please find a delegate to handle your responsibilities.
There should be no more than 4 golfers in one group. There were reports of 5-somes and even a 6-some on the course. This slows play down. Golfers should be organized into groups of 4 our less.
Hole #16 at Pheasant Run – to help with the speed of play and encourage the golfers the course has a local rule. The area between the tee box and the crossing cart path is played as a hazard. If the golfers TEE SHOT does NOT end up past the cart path, the golfer picks up the ball, takes a penalty stroke, and plays the next shot from the drop area. The drop area is on the right side of the fairway, approximately 20 yards in front of the cart path.
Not all drop areas were properly marked. We have notified the course.
Weather delays – cancellation - we try to notify everyone as early as possible if there are weather delays, but many times it is a game-time decision. Monitor our social media sites for current status.

Little League Clinic Update for Saturday 4/9. The 9am, 10am, and 11am clinics at all locations are being cancelled due to the cold temperatures forecasted in the morning. Those clinics are being rescheduled for the same times and locations on June 4th. You should see this update in Team Sideline as well. All other clinics are on as scheduled.

Welcome to the 2022 St. Charles District Golf Little League Season! We are excited to get things started! The Little League consists of 6 clinics that are 50 minutes long led by LPGA and PGA instructors. The clinics are set to begin this weekend with a full schedule of clinics on Saturday, April 9th, and Sunday, April 10th. Additionally, all golfers will received two (2) vouchers good for 9-hole rounds that Golf Headquarters pitch-&-putt course.
All registered Little League golfers have been assigned to a team and were sent email notification of your team name. It is important that you know and remember the assigned team name as it will be used throughout the season.
The Parish Coordinators will be working with the teams to identify volunteers to be Team Managers. If you are interested in volunteering contact your parish coordinator.

Equipment
Golfers should have a junior set of golf clubs that at minimum has a driver, mid-iron, wedge, putter.
What to wear?
Boys: Golf or khaki-type shorts or pants. NO denim and NO athletic shorts/pants. This is per the golf facility.
Girls: Golf skirt, skort, or khaki-type shorts or pants.
** Golf shoes are not needed - any athletic shoes are sufficient **
When to arrive?
Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early and the instructors will be there to assist.

UPDATE(2/23/2022):
The first week of Big League (5th -8th grade) clinics will be either Saturday March 5th or Sunday March 6th and they will be 50 minutes.
The Little League teams are also being set up now and clinics will start the first weekend in April.
Your coach will be in touch soon with your specific dates and times for the clinics.
We will do our best to keep both websites and social media up to date on current activities.
Big League Information
The Big League competitive division is $165 and comprised of 5th-8th graders and consists of four (4) group clinics 50 minutes in duration followed by six (6) rounds of competitive golf. Teams will be limited to a maximum of 8 and players will be grouped by gender and grade.
Little League Information
The Little League non-competitive training division designed for beginners. It is $120 and comprised of 1st - 4th graders and consists of six (6) clinics 50 minutes in duration and 18 holes at the Pitch and Putt @ Golf Headquarters Family Golfplex in O'Fallon MO. Teams will be limited to a maximum of 10 players.
All clinics are led by a local PGA Professional, LPGA Professional, PGA Apprentice, or PGA Pre-Apprentice
